I attended university at Canterbury, have spent some years living on the Kent coast, as well as visiting frequently since, and plan to return to the county in the next few years. I am appalled that planning for a theme park would even be considered on a site such as the Swanscombe Peninsula. Our natural environment is just about the only meaningful legacy we can leave, and the destruction of such a rich and varied site for a glorified funfair is short-sighted, greedy and ignorant. What Swanscombe Marshes brings to the increasingly beleaguered environment in Kent has been represented to you by others in some detail, and I'm sure I don't need to repeat it. Once habitats and species are lost, they're lost for good, please don't let this happen here.
