The proposed transport strategy requires construction over green spaces which are beneficial to wildlife and local residents and will attract traffic through a predominantly residential area that has additional large-scale development plans in the Ebbsfleet Garden City, representing an additional health risk to local residents from pollution. The increased traffic is also very likely to bring additional inconvenience in an area that frequently experiences congestion from the Bluewater Shopping Centre. Due to the Swanscombe Peninsula SSSI, protection of this area against harmful development will need to be enforced by parties other than The London Resort on an ongoing basis so that there is no conflict of interest on the part of the developers. The developers also intend to proceed very quickly with building work. This would appear to present a risk to the wildlife which requires time to adapt to changes in their environment over several seasons. There is also an inevitable environmental impact on residents due to the close proximity of the development to several existing local housing developments in Ingress Park, Ebbsfleet Cross, Ingress Gardens, Neptune Park and Swanscombe Town, and this is out of proportion to any other similar development in the UK. There are no indications of any intention to give a representative and diverse group of people influence at the board and senior management levels. This is likely to have repercussions for the development of a leisure area that will be able to meet the needs and interests of the diverse community it serves, and given that this is in the unusual position of being a National Infrastructure Planning project, this should be given exceptional precedence so that any development is in the public interest rather than the commercial interests of a limited group of people.
