The Suffolk Building Preservation Trust owns Pakenham Water Mill, IP31 2NB, a Grade II listed building of national historic interest. The building is used for milling flour, the sales of which provide essential income for its maintenance. The only power source for this process is the water supplied to the millpond by Pakenham Stream. Under late entry submissions, the Sizewell C applicant, EDF, plans to purchase land adjacent to the stream, in mitigation for loss of habitat at the Sizewell site. The Trust wishes to ensure that the Mill's right to water (granted by Act of Parliament in 1830) is not adversly affected by any changes made to the land by the applicant.
