Letter regarding the submission of the application by Millbrook Power Limited.

Advice given

Thank you for your letter of 18 March 2015 regarding the application by Millbrook Power Limited.

You will be aware that the proposal is currently at the ?pre-application? stage of the Planning Act 2008 (PA2008) process for nationally significant infrastructure projects. The Planning Inspectorate is expecting the Development Consent Order application to be submitted on 23 March 2015. The Planning Inspectorate then has a period of 28 days to decide whether to accept the application for examination.

The opportunity for persons to register to become an 'interested party' will not arise until any formal application has been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate and accepted to proceed to be examined. If the application is accepted to be examined, the developer will be required to advertise in local and national press the period within which anybody will be able to make a 'relevant representation' and register to become an interested party. Notification of this period will also appear on the Planning Inspectorate's project webpage, here: http://infrastructure.planningportal.gov.uk/projects/eastern/millbrook-power/.

The Planning Inspectorate has published a series of advice notes which explain the process, including information on how to get involved. These are available at the following address: http://infrastructure.planningportal.gov.uk/legislation-and-advice/advice-notes/ . I would draw your attention in particular to advice notes 8.1 through 8.5 which will assist you to fully engage in the process should you wish to.
