I am not against wind power but I am strongly against the building of a substation in East Suffolk, east of the A12 and the siting of the landing cables. The size of the substation is totally out of keeping with the other buildings in the area. The roads in this area are not suitable for an increase of traffic or HGV vehicles. New roads would not be a solution because the area is rural, the traffic consists of tractors, the wildlife would be affected: there would be deaths and the numbers of birds and mammals etc would decrease as creatures tried to find suitable habitats elsewhere. Tourism would decline and impact on the local economy. The well being of the locals would be affected by noise, air and light pollution and the closure of footpaths. The cliffs at Thorpeness are extremely fragile and erosion is constant. Interference would exacerbate the problem. Digging would be carried out in an AONB. These areas should not be tampered with, they are special and valued.
