HUMAN IMPACT Many footpaths will be affected during construction and proposed re-routing of footpath FP6 is inadequate. Loss of visual enjoyment, high background noise and traffic flow/ rat runs. LANDSCAPE There will be severe landscape destruction and visual eyesores that cannot be mitigated. The work will affect a substantial area of tranquil, open and deeply rural countryside, changing the character of Friston. The assumptions of mitigation planting are highly questionable. HERITAGE The site is ringed by listed buildings, grade II and grade II* which the impact assessments underestimate. LAND USE Substantial loss of 83 acres of Grade 2 and 3 agricultural land FLOOD RISK Although SPR says there is an increase in flood risk and sediment mobilisation it does not show that their proposed mitigation measures are sufficient, feasible or achievable and takes no proper account of surface water flooding. The two new retention ponds ignore the existing field drainage system, which will be removed. STRATEGIC IMPLICATIONS Sizewell C - DCO Application National Grid Ventures Interconnectors and expansion of offshore wind farms.
