The building of two more offshore wind farms that will cover a huge area off the coast from Southwold to Lowestoft are likely to have a detrimental effect on the livelihood of many people. The fishermen who work from Aldeburgh have already noticed a big decline in their usual catch particularly with the crab and lobster work. They are local men who are not out to make a fortune but to supply fresh fish to local residents and interested visitors. Everything that ensues from building these enormous structures and the infrastructure that follows to get the product ashore is going to have an impact that is difficult to quantify now but will be impossible to reverse when it is known to be unsustainable in the future. Do we want to leave this legacy to our children and their children to inherit and sort out because we have not looked into the future and realised the implications that could arise ?
