Dear Examining Authority, RE; EA2 East Anglia Two Offshore Windfarm I wish to object to ScottishPower Renewables planning application for the following reasons: - The detrimental, Cumulative impact on local communities of up to 7 energy projects, occurring consecutively over the next 12 to 15 years. - The unsuitability and fragility of Thorpeness Cliffs as a site for landing cables. - Use of unspoilt countryside at Friston for huge substation complexes. - Substations dangerously close and dominating a small village that is liable to flooding. - 11Km of cable trenches, destroying environmentally sensitive areas. - Cable trenches and haul roads too close to schools and residential homes. - The significant Threat to wildlife and the important Sandlings Heath area. - Severing the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB causing problems to the many migrating species and severing the wildlife corridor. - Destruction of Ancient woodlands. - Local road network unsuitable for the hugh increase in HGVs and higher traffic levels these works will cause. - Noise pollution from the lorries and construction works, destroying the peace and tranquility of this area. - Light pollution and the loss of Suffolk's famous dark skies. - Air pollution from the huge increase in construction traffics diesel exhaust fumes. - Visibility hazard and health issues from the movement of the light sandy soil, blowing through the air as it is being excavated, while the trenches and considerable amount of construction work is being carried out . - Road surfaces being made slippery and unsafe by the loose sand blowing across them. - a much Higher volume of traffic from all these proposed works causing danger to residents, cyclists and other road users. - Delays to emergency services passing through this traffic and obstructions due to it which will endanger lives. - In the event of a Nuclear incident the evacuation routes would be severely hampered. - A negative impact on tourism in the area. A DMO report says traffic congestion and related issues would deter tourists from coming to the area. - A Negative impact on businesses. Loss of trade, visitor income, and jobs, leading to social and economic decline. - Permanent and temporary closure of PROWs- footpaths, byways, cycle paths and bridleways. I appreciate that wind energy is a good idea for our future energy requirements and hope that it can be implemented with a sympathetic approach to our beautiful Suffolk countryside, its wildlife and people. Yours sincerely, Mr Alan Russell
