I would like to register my feelings against the proposed Sunnica development It is worrying that 2,500 acres of agricultural land will be lost especially as we will need to rely more on home grown crops over the coming years rather than importing these from abroad. Covering the land with these panels will potentially contaminate the land and could contribute to increased flooding due to reduced drainage available. It would seem more beneficial to use less agricultural land and have wind turbines. The size of the Sunnica development poses safety concerns to the surrounding villages spread over 2 counties, with a huge increase in HGV traffic on minor roads possibly causing delays and diversions to local residents for months on end. Safety of the panels, the risk of potential explosions/ fires and the longer term maintenence are a concern. We have a rich and diverse local wildlife which will be affected by this development. Who removes the panels when they are no longer viable or Sunnica is no longer trading ??? Will we be left with this decaying blot on our landscape forever!!! We are an island and Suffolk and Cambridgeshire are flat wind turbines would seem more effective and would have less impact on the local infrastructure
