This area has highly productive land growing onions, carrots, potatoes as well as sugar beet and other crops. at a time when food prices are increasing rapidly we should be looking to become less dependent on food imports. The area is also home to a wealth of wildlife. The sheer scale of this proposal must have serious effects on biodiversity- mitigation measure will take many years to have any effect
