My objections to the siting of the Solar Farm on the proposed site are many. There has been next to no contact with the local villages and our M.P's to discuss the objections this, plus to obtain any information with relevant up to date details. The health and safety issues are also many. The huge, tall Battery storage site due to be sited very close to the village of Red Lodge is the largest on the proposed Farm. This is only 1 mile from both schools and hundreds of the newly built houses. There is potential for highly toxic gases and fumes to be emitted from the batteries, should they catch fire spontaneously, which they are capable of doing. Sunnica were not able to give a convincing reason to believe this was not so, in fact they had a severe deficit of any information regarding any of the safety issues relating to this and other issues. The company representatives at the meeting held on March 9th, 2022 in Red Lodge, were also not able to advise us of the make up or size of these batteries plus other pertinent questions asked by the audience. Also gas emissions from lithium ion batteries have only been studied to a limited extent up to present. The tremendous amount of Grade 3 farm land ruined to enable the extensive solar panels to be sited as planned, submerging all the villages is totally obscene. The 2800 acres has for decades been used for many, many crops to feed much of Great Briton, which in the situation we find ourselves in today should be guarded well. All well as looking to be energy self sufficient, the UK needs to look to being more food self sufficient and our part of East Anglia is very food efficient. Many cereals, oil seed rape & root crops are grown within our area. Lastly, during the building process which I'm led to believe would be 2-3 years there will be hundreds of HGV vehicles filling the village and surrounding area. Most of our roads are simply not capable of coping with this.
