I support this application on the following grounds: 1 It will contribute at scale to national climate change targets which require the national grid to reduce quickly its dependence on fossil fuels. 2 It will be sited on land which appears to be classed as of poor quality for agriculture, in a region which enjoys higher than average annual sunshine. 3 Based on my own experience of existing solar farms and a battery storage site near my home, it will not impinge unduly on either the landscape or the lives of those living nearby. The many electrical pylons in this area are more obtrusive than the solar farms, yet seem not to impact on enjoyment of life in the area. 4 Whilst I have read with interest the objections raised to the scheme locally, I find many of them parochial and unfounded. I believe every region of the country should accept with good grace its share of infrastructure needed to achieve national goals to protect us from a future of floods, fire and hurricanes, which really would impact our lives in this area. 5 The land may not be lost to this use for ever once other sustainable energy sources are developed.
