This development, which has no local benefits in terms of employment, is all for the profit of a Spanish company. The location is of National importance because the Newmarket gallops on the other side of the road (the Limekilns and Railway Land) are the most famous horseracing exercise areas in the world. Horses and their connections, as well as race fans, travel from all parts of the world to see horses exercising here as they have done since the time of Charles II. This huge area of solar panels will be a total eyesore and we will lose valuable agricultural land. It's not environmentally friendly because the main reason behind building this site is to store electricity and to sell to the national grid when the price is right.
