I would like to object to the building of the Sunnica Energy Farm As a local resident (I live in Red Lodge), I feel the sheer size of the farm and the time it will take to construct will have a detrimental effect on my daily life due to the noise and increased amounts of traffic during the construction phase, the rural roads around Red Lodge are already under pressure due to the nearby A11/A14 and the number of new houses that have been built in recent years in this area. The construction of this site will cause years of traffic chaos. The landscape I enjoy on my commute to work and when out walking my dogs will change forever and instead there will be miles of solar panels. I am concerned about the technology; the considerable number of battery energy storage pounds and the risk of fire when using this type of system. They will be close to residential areas. The use of farmland for a project that only has a lifespan of 40 years, there is no guarantee the land will return to its former agricultural use. If this land becomes a ‘brownfield site’ after the lifespan of this project the local landscape which is rich in wildlife will change, and the area I chose to live in due to its rural setting has gone. This project has no local benefit – there is no meaningful employment from the construction of this site.
