Although I may not be directly affected by the building of the Sunnica energy farm as proposed, I have concerns about it. I am concerned about the environmental impact. Over 2000 acres of greenfield land would be lost to agriculture for many years, perhaps permanently, and a time when the country needs to produce more food. Wildlife would also be disturbed. I am concerned about potential benefits and profits. There would be no benefits and probably much disruption for local people. If a Yorkshire company, possibly using Chinese materials, built the farm, the carbon footprint would cancel the benefit of solar power produced. The scale of the battery energy storage compounds could enable Sunnica, a foreign company, to profit from buying cheap electricity and selling it at a higher price. The benefits and profits should be for British residents.
