I am a resident of Redlodge and am very concerned about this solar proposal. It is in the wrong place!. Having the batteries so close to houses is dangerous. Any fires could cause great harm to health with fumes. Loss of valuable farming land at a time when we need to be self sufficient. Loss of our beautiful landscape. It is too large. The disruption on small local roads will be terrible. Please throw out this planning application and save our village. I am the District Councillor for Redlodge and Herringswell (iceni ward). My residents are very concerned and appose this development. It is too large, and will remove alot of our open spaces. Concerns have been raised about the mental health issues this will cause. The large batteries have been located too near to houses with the nearest building being a local primary school. If there was ever a fire, which has happened at other sites, we would need an evacuation plan for the whole village especially due to the toxic fumes that would result There are many elderly residents with mobility difficulties due to the high number of bungalows in the village who could not easily leave the area. The small local roads around Redlodge would be greatly impacted during the construction stage which is supposed to last at least two years, from the A14 direction there are two local bridges in Kentford that have 3ton weight limits so any diversions would cause even more congestion on the local roads. This project is supposed to be for 40 years, the loss of important farming land and the overall destruction of our beautiful landscape will effect future generations for years to come. If this project is not rejected the lives of my residents will be negatively effected for years to come. It is being considered in completely the wrong place .
