The Ukraine situation has shown the folly of dependency on imports, including food. Losing so much prime farmland is a massive mistake & will increase this dependency. We all agree on the need to increase usage of renewable energy but there are plenty of brownfield sites available that could be used without taking productive farmland. Once this site is finished with and decommissioned the land will never be reclaimed to it's original use and will inevitably be used for housing. In the south we have already been swamped with housing without the necessary infrastructure to go with it. I feel that the negative impact on the countryside by a development of this scale will not be compensated for by the benefits of a relatively inefficient scheme that in a few decades time will move on and leave our descendants in this area sorting out the mess.
