I object to the Sunnica Energy Farm Development for the following reasons: • Permanent loss of valuable & productive Grade 2 & 3 food producing agricultural land - food security needed now more than ever • Brown field sites, warehouse roofing & new builds should be utilised for solar panels first • Loss of habitat for wildlife • Risk of uncontrollable explosion from lithium-ion battery energy storage systems (BESS), with energy equivalent to a small nuclear bomb subsequent fire & associated toxic fumes. These fires cannot be put out with water. • BESS and solar panels too close to homes and school • No emergency/evacuation plan • Risk of toxic chemicals, cadmium telluride & lead leaching into land & waterways from damaged solar panels • Misleading consultation booklet • Lack of meaningful consultation & communication with residents • Foreign company changing our countryside for profit only • Over a million imported solar panels (likely from China) • No decommissioning policy or plan • Too big - nearly 3,000 acres of countryside will be lost and permanently change where we live forever • Not green - university analysis shows this scheme will create more carbon in it's lifetime than it saves
