This scheme would be a travesty for the local economy and habitat. With no evidence that this scheme will ever become even carbon neutral, it seems we would be sacrificing a huge amount of high quality farmland for very little ‘green’ gain As the UK’s weather becomes more extreme, the importance of light, well-drained land will be highlighted even further in order for the UK to continue producing its own food rather than relying on importing. Sunnica have been vague, condescending and entirely unappreciative of the impact this will have on the area, predominantly because none of them live in the area. I also strongly believe, if this scheme were to be allowed, it would set a highly dangerous precedent for future developments. It would allow for large corporations, with very few intentions bar making profit, to engulf large chunks of agricultural land for personal gain. I am heavily in favour of green energy and the UK bolstering it’s green energy supply, however I do believe this needs to be actioned carefully and effectively. The UK is full of much more suitable brown field sites, which would have a much less significant impact on local economies, housing prices, habitats and food production. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this submission.
