I completely reject the Sunnica solar proposal, my main reasons are: Far too big and located too close to homes, farms, businesses, involving large scale construction sites above and below ground. Permanent loss of large swathes of highly productive agricultural land, wildlife habitat and quiet enjoyment of the environment. Land will be irreparably damaged. Loss of trees and hedgerows. Permanent damage to landscape and views, excess vehicular and person traffic during construction and ongoing use and maintenance. No plans for restoration of environment or removal of site at the end of it’s life. Risk of explosion, fire, toxic emissions and therefore risk to human and animal life. There is no evidence that solar farms reduce the carbon footprint, or are beneficial in any way, due to the massive exploitation of land for the production of lithium and other rare metals required for the batteries. In marketing, you only show perceived benefits of solar energy, not the vast array of negative aspects of the production, maintenance and disposal of it, not withstanding the effect on human lives of those exploited in the manufacturing process.
