Lucie Newport Mangell has lived in Chippenham for her entire life. She is deeply concerned that the proposed Sunnica project has serious flaws in its conception, delivery and long term benefit. Lucie states - there is an inherent danger in the storage batteries. Due to their vast size, and proximity to a number of villages, should any catch fire (as equivalents have done in other countries), there would be danger to human life, and without question, an ecological disaster. The disruption to the everyday life of several villages, and many thousands of inhabitants, would be very significant for several years during construction. This would also be disproportionate to its value when balanced against other uses of the land. The size and scale are wholly out of kilter with the nature of the land and local infrastucture - narrow roads and lanes will be clogged with HGVs and change the nature of life for thousands of people.
