Kennett Parish Council is concerned about the Sunnica proposal. The parish is soon to have a 500 house development which will be build adjacent to one of the battery plants, divided only by the A11. The development not only comprises residential properties but also a school, care home, and businesses. The development and main village would be placed in a dangerous situation if there is a fire at the battery unit which would release poisonous gases for a sustained period of time. The Parish Council also oppose loss of agricultural land and countryside in and around Kennett and are not convinced of the net carbon gain across the lifetime of this proposal. In summary the Parish Council consider the proposal and sites chosen excessive and evasive to Kennett and the local communities surrounding.
