Thank you for consulting the County Council on the Applicant’s Change Request of 11 April. The County Council in its role as the Highway Authority, Lead Local Flood Authority, and the Historic Environment team (archaeological advisors) has no concerns regarding the amendments proposed by the applicants. However, the County Council has the following Natural Environment comments. It is noted in section 3.4 Onshore Ecology and Ornithology (para 64) that a worst-case scenario of an open cut crossing across Church Lane has been assessed and that the amount of vegetation removed (the construction easement) is the same as previously proposed. The County Council is satisfied with the conclusion set out in para 68 that “no materially new or materially different ecological impacts are anticipated as a result of the proposed change”. However, the option of a trenchless crossing across Church Lane is our preference as this would reduce the overall impact on the adjacent hedgerow and woodland planting.
