It is disingenuous of Cory to say they will mitigate against the loss of habitat, it is already working perfectly well as it is and their proposals are simply greenwashing. South East England is already overcrowded and any loss of open land has a negative impact on everyone living here even if they never visit it, by reducing the air quality. We have already had the Silvertown Tunnel foisted upon us which will reduce the quality of life for people in the area. There are rare animals living there which will be disturbed or lost if these proposals go ahead. Evidence points to a marked decrease in the population of many living organisms and this proposal will not help matters. There is other land nearby which should be used for the Carbon Capture Scheme instead. This proposal shows a lack of respect for and understanding of the historical landscape and the people living here.
