In a time of ecological crisis, I find it disturbing that the conservative government and Cory are in agreement to destroy any areas of the natural environment. This particular space I understand not only is home to rare insects, plants, pollinators, birds and other wildlife, it will also be a part of the land that will be filtering pollutants from local heavy industry already in place. There is going to be a devastating knock-on effect of building in this location for the wildlife and humans here, and more importantly, also beyond here and for years to come. Please redress and listen to the broad national and international science and delete this scheme. Where there is a need to build this type of facility, it can be built on repurposed industrial wastelands anywhere else up and down the Thames, or beyond for example offshore. Perhaps even in locations where they actually and largely vote conservative who would be less inclined to disagree with governmental decision-making from this era of political leaning. Which in my view does not take into consideration the longest or broadest view of humanity and environmental catastrophe. I think this scheme as it is, very much symbolises the narrow minded, financially driven, self promoting, gaslighting populism of the political era. Thanks.
