Whilst I recognise the importance of reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere I believe that this proposal is in the wrong place. The Belvedere marshes have already suffered from a lot of development with two incinerators and it is important that this valuable habitat is protected. Not only does the site possess a good variety of wildlife including some rare species, it is important to maintain areas of marsh that can serve to mop up water in the event of flooding. With rising water levels and the likelihood of increased rain as a result of climate change, marshland is an important asset. It would be much better to look at a brownfield site that is not adjacent to the river for a development like this.
