The proposed development is for an area of significant importance to local nature, which is why it has received protection in the past. The development should be moved to an alternative more suitable site. Crossness Nature Reserve is a safe haven for rare and endangered wildlife, designated as a Local Nature Reserve, a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation and as Metropolitan Open Land, which is afforded the same protection status as the Green Belt. This is not a site suitable for development.
