Land designated as protected should stay protected. It’s absolutely unbelievable that a corporation can obtain a compulsory purchase order for short term profit. Habitat protection of the little nature that we have left in the UK is essential. There are rare and near extinct species in this rare habitat. It is not possible to provide net biodiversity gain when destroying part of a unique habitat. Please uphold what little protection we have for our rapidly declining UK wildlife. In addition- this habitat is a flood plain and was created as a planning condition. We will experience increasing rainfall and flooding in the coming years. Flood plains help to mitigate against this.
