My heart sinks when I hear yet another nature reserve will be downsized for eternity. I grew up in Bexleyheath. Crossness is a haven in the concrete sprawl that engulfs the area now. Hundreds of thousands of people will be joining the Restore Nature Now march on 22nd June. It matters to us. We shouldn't need to be marching. We are at a point of no return for biodiversity loss in the UK. The "energy park" can be located on the nearby industrial area. As for whether this is the direction we should be going to tackle the excessive waste resulting from unbridled overconsumption - that's a whole other matter.
