The Cottam Solar proposal, at over 3,000 acres, combined with the other 3 proposals have a cumulative effect of 10,000 acres of farmland lost and the industrialisation of the area as a whole. Do you think we can continue to lose food producing land at this rate? Has anyone costed the impact on food production and the Green cost of more imported food into the UK as a result of the proposal ? Do you think putting solar panels on farmland is the best place for them? And is it the most effective way of energy generation. Do you think jobs and skills within agriculture will be affected? Ruining our countryside and replacing high quality food production land for an inefficient source of energy is a poor policy. Reducing UK food production capacity meaning more reliance on uncertain food sources abroad makes very little sense, in a very uncertain world. Build efficient fusion power stations and maintain our food production capability.
