The size of the solar farm is undeniably going to affect me, my family and the village. Our wellbeing, and our happiness will be affected. The countryside around us will be negatively altered, resulting in negative affects on wildlife and biodiversity. Removing farmland is crazy when we are reliant on almost 50% imports (and all of the negative affects that transportation has on our planet, and the reliance that means we have on other countries). I appreciate that a large solar farm will cost less than lots of smaller solar farms located more fairly across the country. But the negative impact on the productive use of the land, and the impact on the people and animals in the area seriously needs to be considered. Before this project goes ahead, I urge you to consider spreading the solar farms more fairly; or to create a rule that insists all new builds have solar panel on the the roofs so as to decrease the size; or to consider the vertical solar panels which means the land can still be used for growing/grazing. There has got to be a better solution than removing agricultural land from use.
