The use of productive farmland for solar power is madness; we have to eat. Only 1/3 of UK farmland is suitable for arable farming, so it should be valued and protected for this use above all other considerations. There is much talk about food security, while proposals such as this seem to fly in the face of it. The war in Ukraine should have reinforced this, (not to mention food shortages in world wars 1 and 2) but it would seem that these lessons have not been learned.
