This is just the first of four Solar Farm applications in my local area totalling 10,000 acres and affecting over 30 parishes. These four should be looked at as one, although they are at different stages of the planning process. I moved here last year from the huge city of Leeds believing I was coming to quiet, country scenes. I have a serious ongoing illness with mental health issues. To be surrounded by 4.5 metre high solar panels as far as the eye can see will have a grave impact on my mental health. These farms are proposed on good quality farmland which should be used for growing food for the population in these times of food shortages and continual price hikes. It's common sense to locate the panels on industrial sites, of which there are many. 10,000 acres would be the biggest solar farm in Europe. The impact on wildlife will be immense. We have wild deer which will no longer be able to roam freely. Their ancestors will have been here hundreds of years. Do they get a say? Solar Power is over rated. It produces a tiny amount of power, only on sunny days. Of course the panels produce nothing at night, on long winter evenings when we need power the most. If these four applications are approved, i.e the whole 10,000 acres, it will take 4 years of construction work, huge lorries pounding along our country lanes day and night. Some of these lanes will have to be widened. I heartily oppose these plans.
