Speaking as the Member of Parliament for the area, this project is an inappropriate development which is broadly opposed by people who live or work in the area. It takes good land out of agricultural use at a time when food security is more of a concern than ever before and when global food distribution networks have been disrupted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The solar panels proposed are large and visually unappealing and would have a significant negative impact on the surrounding area. The mitigation and community gain is woefully inadequate. I fear it would be grossly irresponsible to do anything but reject this scheme in its entirety.
