Whilst we note there are no ancient woodlands within the development area, although there are several small wooded areas bordering it. We also note that there are currently no plans to remove any existing trees and that adequate buffer zones will be provided to protect those woodlands bordering the development during the construction phase. However, one of the biggest threats to woodland is fragmentation. Given there are plans for new woodland creation, it may be advantageous if some of the new trees and woodlands could be used to expand or join up some of the existing woodland to help improve their biodiversity. This may be especially important when considering the culmulative impacts of this and other solar farms planned within the area. If you require any further advice regarding woodland creation, please do not hesistate to contact me.
