Taking up huge amounts of farmed and much needed agricultural grade 3 farmland. Note: We are far behind the levels of potentially being able to feed our own country - relying heavily on food imports. We need to further grow food production with a steadily increasing population and this quality land and other is essential for this or food imports will dramatically increase. Inefficiency of solar panels in a UK environment of perhaps 9 - 12% maximum potential. The far better utilisation and efficiency of wind turbines in this very wind prone area, rising off the Trent valley I would far rather have a bank of wind turbines that carpets on inefficient solar panels! Huge destruction of hedgerows and woodlands, impacting local / national wildlife. Job losses through loss of agricultural labour and agricultural supply services. Impact visually of these 4.2 meter tall solar panels. Impact visually of the high security containing fences in previous sites 8 foot tall and 'high security'. Also - who is gaining? These companies are not UK based. Is this 'carbon offsetting' for other non UK based industries??
