I object most strongly to have effectively a 10,000 acre industrial park on my immediate doorstep. The destruction of this massive area of agricultural land at a time when as Nation we are already suffering food shortages and increased food costs is totally unacceptable. In addition the consequential impact this would have on our wildlife is abhorrent to say nothing of the damage this would have on the local population’s health and well-being. Whilst accepting the need to ultimately achieve zero emissions, there are more efficient ways of attaining this through nuclear, hydro, wind, and even fossil fuel coupled with carbon capture. Solar energy on this scale is not sufficiently effective for all the obvious reasons. To impose these proposals on the local population without a formal referendum is completely wrong.
