The main issue is the scale of the proposed solar array. There are two main reasons. The first is the vast amount of productive arable land it will put out of commission. Food self-sufficiency is as important as energy self-sufficiency. The second is the damaging impact it will have on the character of the Lincoln Edge. The wide open vista from the Middle Street down into the Trent valley is beautiful and unique but it will be ruined by this vast industrial installation.
