Basically a blot on the landscape and the feeling that this whole project is already in the bag whether residents like it or not! Disastrous. There is no doubt that as human beings we are merely caretakers of our amazing earth in general and our own region in particular but not at the cost of having swathes of these solar ‘farms’ marring the landscape. The damaging effect on wildlife, the sheer ugliness, the pillaging of arable and/or grazing land is enormous. There are hundreds of disused buildings (ex military barracks and airfields plus barns and outbuildings) which would be ideal for such a project. It should be mandatory to have new build housing developments to have solar panels fitted as a matter of course. Another initiative would be to grant aid households to fit solar panels. It seems to be a no brainer to use existing buildings and disused areas for this project. If this goes ahead it will be sacrilegious, the big corporations bullying the local population, so no change there then! I’m just disgusted and have so much I want to say but can feel the anger rising within. So I’ll stop before I say something inappropriate! Suffice to say I’m totally against any and all of these solar farms.
