Destruction of farmland Destruction of habitat Destruction of wildlife Imposing a horrifying density of what is actually a huge industrial site replacing a treasured and attractive landscape which contains premier food producing land. In the quite long term turning a beautiful and peaceful Lincolnshire landscape into a hellhole of heavy project machinery destroying the soil, blocking small country lanes, destroying wildlife habitats and therefore creatures chances of survival. Introducing a new range of hitherto unknown potential chemical hazards (eg from use of lithium) to our countryside. Lincolnshire has been called a land “as dry as Jerusalem” - in the event of a a solar panel fire where would the masses of water come from to put such a chemical- releasing fire out? We need a much more in-depth examination of the multi fold advantages of other, more finely targeted methods of producing more electricity in tandem with avoiding waste in the use of electricity. E.g. Could we instead be looking at a system of adapting roofs with a low superstructure to take freely angled solar panels facing the right direction for sun capture and even with the ability to move in daylight hours to continually catch the sun’s rays. If many more houses produced their own solar energy this would add up quickly to an impressive and substantial input, leaving us with our vital food producing landscape. In summary this project appears to be a very ill-thought out scheme more focussed on short-term profits than long-term issues such as the imperative need to preserve and maintain the present status of a peaceful countryside already geared to many positive aspects of a healthy life for all - vital food production and a quietly stunning landscape which brings untold health benefits whose importance we should not thoughtlessly underestimate.
