I am against the scheme as thousands of acres of our Lincolnshire food producing farming land will be destroyed. With the current situation with in the war in Ukraine and both Ukraine and Russia representing 25% of the worlds wheat, and with the level of illegal migrants already at over 100,000 and increasing daily, all of whom need to be fed, food security is very fragile. In particular, I don't believe that an extension to the grain export deal has been agreed. It is also predicted that empty shelves and supermarkets rationing some products could be with us for yet awhile longer. In addition, countries in the EU are also experiencing crop shortages and the UK is bottom of the list for receiving what they do have available for export, with EU countries taking precedence. More than ever, and particularly as an island, we need to preserve what agricultural resources we have. Lincolnshire is the bread basket of the UK and by using its agricultural land, this project will destroy a natural resource and destroy thousands of acres of necessary food producing farming land. The areas currently proposed to be used in Lincolnshire for solar panels are completely inappropriate when there ARE alternatives. Surely it makes far more sense to put solar panels on roof tops or find alternative land which is not agricultural in order to protect our food source. We can have the best of both worlds!
