There is a need for energy security. There is also a need for food security. Using a large area of prime agricultural farm land for the purpose of generating electricity I consider to be foolish. If there are to be large scale solar installations, they should be sited in places where they do not displace essential activities such as growing food. Solar power is unreliable, inefficient, resource hungry and can only produce electricity during the day. Without large scale storage capacity; orders of magnitude larger that the proposed minimal battery capacity, solar power is a very poor choice for power generation.
