I am appalled at the loss of good agricultural land to allow for solar panels. We have many 'brown' field sites which could be used for this purpose. The massive destruction of the countryside in Darlington/South Durham/ Teesside is not acceptable We were informed at a planning meeting that this huge development and related disruption to roads will take up to 5 years. The fields in question are not screened therefore the whole development will be a complete eyesore and a huge bolt on the landscape Why is it necessary to develop solar farms from Brafferton (near Darlington) across some ten miles of fields. Surely other options ought to have been considered. This development is Government and Planning at its worse.
