We regularly see both Deer and Hares in the fields behind our house we are concerned that Byers Gill which will cover over 1200 acres and has miles of deer proof fencing, will mean that deer and hares will no longer be able to run freely. This loss of habitat will be detrimental to the welfare of deer and hares as well as being a loss of amenity for our family. There are several solar farms existing and approved in close proximity to Byers Gill for which if approved Byers Gill would effectively infill the space in between them, this would mean that combined there would be some 2500 acres of solar farms fenced off in a similar way as proposed by Byers Gill, this significant loss and disruption to natural habitat is all in a very concentrated area, with deer unable to use their natural routes it is likely to result in deer crossing roads more frequently and in different places than usual , significantly increasing the risk of road traffic accidents in the local area.
