I have several issues and concerns with the proposed Byers Gill Solar Farm. Firstly, and possibly the most important, solar farms are already known to be an inefficient use of land, the amount of electricity provided from such solar farms is poor compared to windfarms. The impact of these solar farms, from construction to completion and on, will affect all the community, ugly panels will surround our beautiful village of Bishopton - which is a conservation area. The development and construction of Byers Gill will have a negative impact on the wildlife (some protected species such as lapwing - surely this is against the law?) The extra vehicles on our narrow roads and lanes delivering to the site, 80 plus HGVs on a daily basis, the noise and pollution. We currently have issues with potholes, so extra construction site vehicles will only add to the already damaged road surfaces. As well as the roads becoming hazardous with mud from the construction vehicles. The lane is used daily by pedestrians - it is a way the locals have 5 minutes to chat to fellow villagers; walkers with prams, elderly people having a stroll- sometimes the only people they see in the day, cyclists, horses, dog walkers and the like - safety is paramount. People need regular exercise for many reasons; health, mental health, socialising etc. Furthermore we are a conservation area and these, unsightly panels are going to completely surround our picturesque village of Bishopton. I, as a resident, had to complete an in-depth planning for a small flue, how on earth has the proposed Byer Gill Solar Farm plan even got as far as this?
