This project should not be permitted to proceed any further. The consultation process has been poor with poor communication and poor disclosure of details. The resistance to this project is almost 100%. The proposed solar panel area has a huge concentration of panels, adding further to solar farms already under construction in the area around a number of small villages. These will be very visible from the villages in a number of directions and visible to visitors coming to the area. The idea that part of the area is a conservation area has been ignored. The land around these villages have been used successfully for agricultural purposes for many years. To reduce the capacity of food production seems counterintuitive when the country is seeking better food security. Access to the area is already poor, indeed the access from the A1 reduces to single file at one point. The road is already poorly maintained. The junction at Great Stainton is already a road traffic accident blackspot. The increased traffic will inevitably result in greater problems. There are already fields in the area being consumed by construction and reducing the amenity of the area. The prospect of having such a high concentration over such a wide area around small villages is having a deleterious impact on health and wellbeing of the residents of the villages and farming community, if this project is allowed to proceed the effects will be very detrimental to the whole area.
