I am a regular visitor to my twin sister [REDACTED] and have been considering moving closer to her and my brother [REDACTED] who also lives in Bishopton. If the Byers Gill Solar Farm is passed I will be unable to do so. I worry about the destruction to village life in Bishopton through the traffic, loss of the local wildlife and general beauty of the area. There is also a large collection of solar farms in the area and this will be the nail on the coffins head for this part of Durham. I also worry about my sister and brothers mental health and well being as they both retired here for the peace and countryside. There will also be light pollution due to the security lights around the site, on top of the noise of development and traffic. The solar panels are too close to housing and the school. How could I expect to live in such a destroyed village? House prices are already falling but will fall even further if this development goes through so I will be in negative equity if I do buy a property.
