I AM VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED TO THIS WHOLE DEVELOPMENT AND OBJECT MOST STRONGLY Byers Gill Solar Factory (I refuse to call it a solar farm that is a misnomer) will desecrate the beautiful farming country around 5/6 picturesque villages turning it into an industrial wasteland. The future is BLACK - no green fields - no crops growing - no lambs frolicking in the springtime - just a sea of black plastic panels as far as the eye can see - in excess of some 1200 acres This is a dystopian future for this once rural idyll. The psychological toll on mental health is not exaggerated and cannot be dismissed. When the areas immediately surrounding our homes are depressing to look at then it follows that the people become depressed and their health and wellbeing suffers as a result. Some people have already contemplated selling up and moving out however house prices are now stagnating in what was once a buoyant market in some of the most desirable villages in Durham County. We are now in properties that are at worst completely unsaleable or have to be sold cheaply due to this abomination. There will be no financial compensation or recompense for us, unlike the farmers and people affected by the HS2 Rail development. Thus our lifestyle has been taken away from us and will never return, certainly anyone over 40 years old will never see the rural landscape again and will bear the brunt of this crazy race to Net Zero which can never be achieved, for China and India will continue to belch their industrial fumes out into the same atmosphere and have no intention of stopping. What does the future hold for our children and grandchildren, where is the food going to come from if not our farming community we cannot rely on imports to make up the shortfall in home grown produce.
