The project needs to be stopped for the following reasons: - The total destruction of habitat for wildlife in an area of great natural beauty. Not only for species such as deer, hares, duck and game birds, but more importantly for protected species such as shale duck, sparrow hawks, buzzards etc - living not only on the 1356 Byers Gill acres, but also in the connected woodlands, streams and ponds that are nearby. - The great loss of agricultural land and food production - are we going to have to buy our food from further afar, increasing our carbon foot print in order to produce solar power. Robbing Peter to pay Paul? - The incredible demise of a beautiful English countryside for all us who love visiting there, and the irreversible loss of house prices for the locals, who will also have to deal with increased traffic and noise levels as well as a change of lifestyles. The effects on the mental and physical health and wellbeing of the locals cannot be negated. - And if course the irreversibility of the project - this land will never again be able to be restored to the beautiful farm landscape of today. The project must be stopped.
