I appreciate that the need for green renewable energy is now greater than ever but it should never come at the cost of destruction of the environment. At a time when the natural world is under enormous pressure and the loss of habitat and biodiversity is greater than ever, no infrastructure projects should be allowed to take precedent. The whole idea of green energy is to help preserve the natural world, not to add to its destruction. It is impossible to see how the Byers Gill Solar Development is anything but bad and ill conceived. Bad for the environment, bad for the wildlife in the area and bad for all the residents who are being forced to live alongside it. For many years I have walked and run the footpaths in the area and exercised my dogs there. I have seen a great variety of wildlife, mammals such as Deer, Stoats and Weasels, many different species of birds including some that are not only nationally but internationally threatened such as Barn Owls. Where will they hunt when the fields are covered in solar panels? I cannot believe that there are not more suitable areas for this development and I would urge you to reconsider this development. Please put the natural world first .
